Concentration or awareness?

Concentration is the directing of attention to a specific object, to the exclusion of everything else. A single object becomes the only point of focus.
Awareness is a state of being conscious of everything around you, and within you. It is a process of watching everything. It includes everything.

  1. I can understand about being aware of things around you...but it always puzzles me about conscious of things within you..:(

    1. Hi there!
When I talk about being conscious of everything within you, it means you must be conscious of the activities of your mind. Have you ever noticed that the mind keeps chattering all day long. We sometimes call it 'talking to ourselves'. As long as a thought is running in our minds, we know what it is, but the next moment, we no longer know what it was. So this means thoughts simply come and go but we don't pay enough attention. So being aware within means to consciously watch your mind. For more clarity, you may read my post on 'why is self-knowledge necessary' on this blog.
      Thanks!

P.S: Would appreciate if you mention your name, next time you write your comment, in case I know you :)
